Electric automatic valves Questions

What is the difference between an electromagnetic valve and an electric automatic valve? Also, do you handle electromagnetic valves?

A electromagnetic valve operates a valve with the electromagnetic force of a solenoid. On the other hand, an electric automatic valve operates the valve with a motor and gears.
Electric automatic valves generally have a longer actuation time than electromagnetic valves due to use of a motor, so they have the advantage of being less prone to water hammer.

We only handle electric automatic valves that use motors, and do not handle electromagnetic valves.

If a power failure occurs while an electric automatic valve is operating, what happens to the operation of the valve?

Basically, an electric automatic valve stops at the valve opening at the time of power failure. However, only in the case of a spring-return type electric automatic valve, the valve is closed at the time of power failure. Please contact us if you want to use a spring-return type electric automatic valve to be open at the time of power failure.

What is the service life of an electric automatic valve?

The durability of an electric automatic valve varies depending on the use condition.
In our in-house tests, actuators have been tested 100,000 times, and valves have been tested 10,000 times. However, be sure to perform regular inspections during use to prevent unexpected accidents.

Which products are the successors to the discontinued EK series / EL series electric motors?

The successors to the EK Series / EL Series are the EX series. Since the product specifications differ between the EK series / EL series and the successors, wiring change / additional works may be required to replace and use them.
For details, please refer to “About precautions regarding replacement of EK / EL series → EX series products” in the EX series instruction manual.

Why a space heater is required?

By using a space heater for the actuator, it is possible to lower the internal relative humidity* and prevent internal condensation.
Please note that the EX series must be kept energized at all times.
* Relative humidity (%): A measure of how much water is contained compared to the amount of saturated water vapor (the maximum amount of water that can be contained in air at a certain temperature)
