Ductile cast iron
Ductile ValveLow temperature and high pressure
- General use
- Industrial use
Ductile valves are valve made of free-carbon spheroidized ductile iron (FCD-S) called graphite in the metallographic structure. Ductile iron has stronger mechanical properties than ordinary cast iron. Ductile cast iron (FCD-S) is used for KITZ’s ductile valve, and the graphite spheroidizing in the structure is different from that of malleable cast iron. Ductile cast iron is more suitable for valve in mechanical properties than maleable cast iron. Ductile valve is widely used in industrial applications such as steam, gases, oils and water.
Scene of use
- ・Air-conditioning and sanitation of building equipment, factory production equipment, machine tools, equipment, etc.
Flammable gases, gas lines, etc. (approved under high pressure gas)
Main applicable fluids
- ・Steam, fuel oil, flammable gas
Point of technology
- ・Ductile valves are more economical than cast steel/stainless valve.
- ・This product has a wide operating pressure and temperature range. It can be used not only for general-purpose applications such as building facilities, but also as a valve for high-pressure gas facilities, pressure vessels, and hazardous material storage tanks.
Application as valve
- ・For steam, gas, and oil
- ・Valve which is cheaper than cast steel and higher in strength than cast iron
Trivia
- ・Cast iron a little higher in strength than gray cast iron
