Detailed Search
Is it possible to change the direction of the manual gear operating device in the field?

Basically, it is possible to change the direction of the operating device, but some products limit the direction that can be changed. Therefore, please contact your nearest sales office.

Tell me how to distinguish the trim materials of cast-iron valves.

The trim material of cast-iron valve is indicated by color on the nameplate.

Is it possible to use a vertical lift type check valve in horizontal piping?

A vertical lift type check valve cannot be used because the disc and seat may shift when closed.

Tell me the keyhole dimension of the key lock plate of 10UTB.

The keyhole dimensions of the key lock plates (stoppers) are as follows.

Why a space heater is required?

By using a space heater for the actuator, it is possible to lower the internal relative humidity* and prevent internal condensation.
Please note that the EX series must be kept energized at all times.
* Relative humidity (%): A measure of how much water is contained compared to the amount of saturated water vapor (the maximum amount of water that can be contained in air at a certain temperature)

Does a ball valve have a flow direction?

A ball valve can be used for flow in either direction. However, please note that the flow direction is fixed in the case of a valve with a vent hole, and the side with the hole is the primary side.

Tell me the difference among the full bore type, standard bore type and reduced bore type?

The bore types are classified as follows:
・ Full bore type: This type refers to a structure with which the inner diameter of the flow path becomes the same as the inner diameter of the pipe when the valve is fully opened and no resistance is added to the fluid.
・Reduced bore type: This type refers to a ball valve whose ball inner diameter is one size or more smaller than the nominal diameter of the valve.
・Standard bore type: This type refers to a ball valve whose bore diameter is one size smaller than the nominal diameter of the valve.

What does the casted “S” on a cast iron valve mean? (Example: “S” of “10K-150S”)

The casted “S” on the cast iron valve indicates that the seat structure of the disc is a threaded type.

When is the bypass valve of a wafer type check valve used?

Normally, use the bypass valve of a wafer type check valve “fully closed”.
The bypass valve is opened in the following cases.
1. When draining water from the piping for maintenance, etc.
2. When priming water is required when starting the pump (bleeding the air in the piping)

Tell me how to read the product code (FIG).

For how to read the product code, please check “Overview of KITZ Product Code System” in the general catalog digest version.

Is it possible to use a small automatic valve outdoors?

Except for the electric automatic valves: ES series (Petit KELMO), the valve can be used outdoors. However, it cannot be used in an environment where it is exposed to direct sunlight or direct water spray, so please protect it with a roof, etc. For details (protection rating, etc.), refer to the catalog and each instruction manual.

Except for the pneumatic automatic valves: C series, the valve can be used outdoors. However, it cannot be used in an environment where it is exposed to direct sunlight or direct water spray, so please protect it with a roof, etc. In addition, depending on the installation posture, water may enter from the breathing port and cause problems. For details (protection rating etc.), refer to the catalog and each instruction manual.

Is it possible to get 3D CAD data?

We do not provide 3D CAD data, but we plan to prepare BIM data in the future.

The catalog says that the BC valves “can be used with water, oil and gas (other than flammable and toxic ones), but can they also be used with “light oil”, “kerosene” and “heavy oil”?

It is possible to use the BC valves and cast iron valves with light oil, kerosene, and heavy oil in terms of corrosion resistance. However, please note that these fluids fall under the category of hazardous materials in areas where the Fire Service Act is applicable, such as around oil tanks, and there are restriction on materials. Valves that can be used for hazardous materials are valves made of ductile cast iron, cast steel, and stainless steel. We recommend installing valves made of ductile cast iron or better even when installing in areas where the Fire Service Act is not applicable.

What valves can be used for drinking water?

Please select from the valves for water supply provided by us or the products that passed inspection by the Japan Water Works Association, the products certified by the Certification Center or the products that conform to the lead leaching performance standards.

Do you have a piping compatibility table for butterfly valves?

For the piping compatibility table for butterfly valves, please refer to the “General Catalog, Digest Version” and “Butterfly Valve General Catalog”.

Is it possible to swing the installation direction of a B type actuator and ball valve by 90 degrees?

We do not recommend posture change by our customers after purchase.
If you need to change the installation direction, please contact your nearest sales office.

What are the differences between 10UTB and 10UTDZ?

The main structural differences between 10UTB and 10UTDZ are as follows.

Tell me the dimensions of the bolts and nuts for piping of wafer type check valves.

Please refer to the catalog for the dimensions of the bolts and nuts for piping used for wafer type check valves.
(Wafer type check valves)

In addition, the bolts / nuts for piping are attached to the product.

Tell me the difference between the aluminum butterfly valves for hot water supply and water supply.

The seat rubber is different for hot water supply and water supply.
We recommend the butterfly valve with EPDM seat for water supply when using it for water supply piping and that with FKM seat for hot water supply when using it for hot water supply piping.

What are the selection criteria for standard, high torque spring, and low torque spring of wafer type check valves?

Please refer to the following criteria as a guide when selecting the standard torque spring, low torque spring or high torque spring for the spring to be attached to the disc of a wafer type check valve.
