Climate Change Action Plan

Reduction of energy consumption

We are promoting improvement activities to reduce energy consumption. We have improved the efficiency of air conditioning by insulating the locations where equipment related to manufacturing is installed, which has resulted in a reduction in electricity consumption, especially during the hottest and coldest months of the year. In addition, we will continue to promote energy conservation throughout the company by increasing each employee’s awareness of energy conservation through the use of LED lighting in factories, the replacement of air conditioning equipment, company-wide education on energy conservation, and the distribution of energy conservation awareness e-mails within the company.

Proper management and reduction of chemical substances

Promote surveys on environmentally hazardous substances

We regard surveys on environmentally hazardous substances as one of the important required qualities to increase customer satisfaction, and we have been responding to survey requests. Recently, requests for environment-related survey sheets and related materials from our customers have been increasing. Regarding the REACH regulation, we announce the substances to be surveyed every six months, and we also respond to each customer in detail, such as requests for our own survey on regulated substances based on the Green Procurement Guideline. In the future, we will proactively respond to customer requests by considering the formation of a specialized organization with knowledge and experience, fundamental improvements including the operation of environmentally hazardous substances, and the introduction of external systems.

Examples of social contribution activities

Participation in Lake Suwa cleanup by employee volunteers

In-house volunteers participated in the Lake Suwa cleanup, which was part of the Adopt Program sponsored by the Japanese Trade Union Confederation of Suwa (RENGO Nagano). Participating employees commented that they wanted to protect the environment they live in for the future, and that they were surprised and pleased at the large number of people who participated.

Cooperation in Internships (Work Experience) for Local High School Students

We cooperate with local high school students in their internship programs and provide them with work experience every year. Students have commented that they have become interested in manufacturing and that it has been helpful for their future career paths, and that it makes them happy to think that the products they have worked on are useful somewhere.
