KCA Teams Up With KCM Plant, Reynosa, Mexico
On June 18th and 20th two groups of KCA employees toured our manufacturing plant in Reynosa, Mexico. KCA and KCM met to discuss each company's part in maintaining a smooth running operation between the sales/order side at KCA in Stafford and the actual manufacturing of Kitz valves in Reynosa.
The tour began in Phase I (Mfg. of 2"-6" valves) with explanations of the manufacturing process given step-by-step from the foundry (casting), machining, testing (per API, ANSI, ASME, NACE standards) and inspection process to the finished product. Phase II (Mfg. of 8"-12" valves) manufacturing processes were also seen which included automatic machining of industrial valves with a multi-stage die transfer machine.
One of the most important and valuable aspects of Kitz's valve manufacturing process is their traceability. All valves are manufactured in heats. In each individual heat, the valve's chemical content and date of manufacture can be traced back from the order number (KMC#) to the MTR.
We feel that this tour and meeting was very important to assist KCA personnel to understand the total process of receiving and completing orders.
Kitz Corporation of Mexico has been assessed by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) and found to be in accordance with the requirements of ISO-9002. In addition, KCM has been approved and complies with the German TÜV Standard.
